The Lexi Cinema is one of the borough’s hidden gems. It’s an 80-seater, digital cinema that donates all of its profits to the Sustainability Institute – a group that maintains an ‘EcoVillage’ in rural South Africa. As well as showing the latest off-beat, independent cinema, the Lexi shows family films, recorded theatre and opera productions and even sing-along screenings.
The Tricycle in Kilburn is primarily a theatre, but the space also houses a 300-seat cinema. Like the Lexi, the Tricycle programme focuses on non-mainstream films, with discounts on recent-but-not-new releases.
