vtalentyear seeks 16-25 year old volunteer

08/27/2010

We have one final place available for a young person aged 16-25 within the vtalentyear programme. This is a great opportunity to gain new skills, have a great experience and do something really worthwhile!

Brent is one of the first local authorities to take part in vtalentyear, a national full-time volunteering programme for young people aged 16-25.

Placements are available within Brent’s Children and Families department, where young people have the opportunity to volunteer directly with young people, using their creative ideas and skills to contribute to services and other local young people's lives.

vtalentyear will give young people the opportunity to develop their own skills and gain a BTEC level 2 qualification. On completion of the programme, volunteers will have the opportunity to apply for a development grant of up to £1,500 to cover the costs of future training or education courses which will help them make the transition from volunteering to the workplace.

Volunteers will be supported throughout the programme and will receive an agreed subsistence allowance including expenses such as lunch and travel paid during their placement

So if you are or know of a young person who is available now, please download the flyer and application form.
